Gadgets, Wine and The Fat Duck

Phew, we’re back after a hectic couple of weeks.  That unforgiving mistress “work” has been interfering with our wine, food and gadget consumption.  We have managed a few treats over the last two weeks though.

The Gadget Show Live

Myself and ITs Food Jnr attended The Gadget Show Live at The NEC last week.  It was a really great day out and was absolutely packed out!  What Credit Crunch??  Here are a few of the highlights…

Some Nice Wine

Whilst travelling on business I stayed at a relatively nice hotel for a couple of nights.  One night I was sat with some colleagues at the hotel restaurant and was asked to choose the wine.  I ended picking up The Stump Jump GSM red from d’Arenberg Wines (Grenache (50%) / Shiraz (29%) / Mourvedre (21%) blend).  Initially I wasn’t sure but by the second glass I was really appreciating the lovely smooth blend.  If I can find a bottle I’ll review it here.

The Fat Duck

Yes, we’ve been back for our 3rd visit.  I’ll post a full review soon but here are a few highlights…

  • Over £200 per head again (as predicted)
  • Amazing Zinfandel wine
  • Sound Of The Sea – Is it any good?
  • Better or Worse than our last visit?
  • Which member of the ITs Food family got a little too merry…?
