Lots of Wine from Tesco!

I had a nice delivery from Tesco yesterday.

Three half cases of wine from Tesco

Three half cases of wine which I managed to get for a fantastic price (using various offers) of <£4 per bottle. Not bad when you know that there were two bottles of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2007 in the collection!!

First of all was the New World Icons.

World Icons mixed case from Tesco

An excellent collection of two bottles each of the legendary Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2007, premium Wolf Blass Presidents Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 and the premium Penfolds Kalimna Shiraz Bin 28 2004. All for £54 from Tesco.

Next up was the winner of our Great Summer of Rosé 2007, a half case of Pink Elephant Rosé.

Pink Elephant Rosé

A simply excellent summer drinking rosé for an astounding price of £25 per half case from Tesco!!

Finally, a really interesting mixed case. The World Wine Tour Mixed case.

First of all the reds:

McManis Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon, 2005, USA, 13% Made by the acclaimed McManis Family Vineyards, this wonderful Californian Cabernet Sauvignon is crammed full with concentrated blackcurrant fruit flavours, accompanied by vanilla, cinnamon and clove.

La Grande Classique Fitou, 2005, France, 13.5% Fitou lies near the Spanish border in south-west France and produces rich, spicy wines. This superb example combines intense fruit flavours with delicious, savoury hints and a subtle scent of Mediterranean herbs.

Rawnsley Estate Shiraz Viognier, 2006, Australia, 14.5% This luscious, full-bodied wine is packed full with delicious plum, chocolate and blackcurrant flavours. The small amount of Viognier gives it a soft, silky taste which is further complemented by soft vanilla flavours.

Reds

Then the whites:

Private Gallery Chardonnay Viognier, 2006, France, 13.5% This lovely delicate wine benefits from the careful blending of grapes which have been harvested at night to retain their aromas. The Viognier brings honeysuckle, peach, apricot and exotic fruits aromas and the Chardonnay fresh grapefruit and lemon notes

Acacia Hills Chardonnay Sauvignon Blanc, 2006, Australia, 12% With fresh melon, golden peach and nectarine flavours, this is a gorgeous, medium-bodied, unoaked blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Serve cool and enjoy it with chicken, seafood or creamy pasta

Spencer Bay Chardonnay, 2007, South Africa, 14% A smooth, creamy Chardonnay packed full of delicious melon, pineapple and mango fruit with a fresh zesty dash of lime.”

Whites

All for a fantastic £26 at Tesco!! Amazing value if you want to try some new wines you may not have drunk before.

As you may have guessed, we’re now affiliated with Tesco. Don’t worry, we’re not going to just post articles which have links to Tesco or The Sunday Times Wine Club. If any of our wines come from either source then yes, the link will an affiliated one. IT COSTS YOU NOTHING! If you buy something all that happens is that we get a very small % of the sellers profit. To give you some idea, if you bought the half case of Pink Elephant rosé we’d get ~75p, you’d not pay a penny more.

Anyway, reviews to follow!!
