Gaaarrrrgh! Cork Taint!!!

So, last night I was just finishing of a Valentines meal for me and Mrs itsfood (minted lamb chops, glazed carrots and soy cabbage) and decided to open a bottle of Prosecco.  Almost straight away I could tell there was little or no pressure behind the cork. With dread I managed to dig the cork out and was treated to a mildy fizzy sour wine. Urgh!

Come on people, let’s kill off these awful corks ASAP.  Actuyally come to think of it, what is the alternative to corks in sparkling wine?  Plastic stoppers?
