Cheap wine in the UK

Just a “heads up” to all UK readers that Tesco and Sainsbury’s have 25% off wine if you buy 6 or more bottles. You have to be careful though as they both sometimes put prices up just before the promotion so do the maths to make sure you’re getting a good deal.

My top pick from Tesco is Wolf Blass Presidents Selection Shiraz (my Christmas Red for 2006) at ~£7.30 with discount! I saw this for £12.00 in store at Oddbins on Wednesday. Also get their great Processo for ~£5.25 a bottle; a fantastic Champagne replacement.

As for Sainsbury’s I haven’t been there yet but I hope to pick up some of the excellent 47lb Rooster Pinot Noir. Their Chardonnay isn’t bad either. I’ll post any bargains I find after the weekend.
