Wow. This is beautiful and I beg all those multi-billionaire readers of IT’s Food (hello? Roman?) to donate one to me immediately! $400+ for a single bottle wine cellar may seem steep as there are cheaper alternatives here
but you’ve got to admit, this is a beauty.

“The Angelshare Single Bottle Cellar has a temperature and humidity controlled chamber to keep that special bottle in a perfect storage environment and have it surrounded in a sleek design that just might be more impressive than the wine its holding.” reports Acquire Mag.
Compact Impact tells us the $405.49 Angelshare is a single bottle cellar for that special bottle of wine…
…in its own temperature and humidity controlled time capsule for that special occasion in the future, whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, graduation or other significant event in your life or of those closest to you. The compact dimensions and elegant, understated design makes the single-bottle cellar a focal point in any setting and an ideal presentation package to treasure.
The unit boasts the following technology…
Controls the temperature at an appropriate level for aging of wine.
If the temperature goes higher than the preset level, cooling operation will be activated. If it goes lower, heating operation will be activated. Accordingly, optimum temperature is maintained in the storage room.
Maintains optimum humidity for aging of wine.
No matter how vastly external humidity may change, inside the storage room humidity is always kept at 65% or more, to prevent potential shrinkage of cork.
Realizes super low noise and super low vibration.
Since no motor nor compressor is used, this mechanism produces almost no vibration. The super silent heat-exhaust fan controls the operation noise at only 15db. You can place the cellar at your bedside without anxiety about being bothered.
Non-Freon,non-compressor.
This mechanism delivers cooling effect without using Freon or other refrigerants, nor using a compressor, being conscientious for environment.
Has three-step temperature settings.
You can select the preset temperature from three-step settings: 12℃, 14℃ or 16℃ that best fits the character of your wine.
Resistant to ultraviolet rays.
A double-panelled half-smoke glass window is adopted to prevent harmful ultraviolet rays from intruding.
- Dimension (inches):L5.5 × W18 × H7
- Color: Black
- Net weight: 6.6 lb
- Capacity: 1.8 lit.
- No. of bottles storable: 1 bottle (This unit is not designed for storage of a champagne bottle. A bottle up to 85mm in diameter can be stored.)
- Maximum electric power consumption: 55W
- Power consumption under steady-state operation (after reaching preset temperature): 10W
- Supply voltage (frequency): AC100V (50/60Hz)
They also do other wine coolers but they aren’t as cool (excuse the pun!).

Okay, now for a new series of articles, “5 minute recipes”. Every now and again you just can’t be bothered to spend a long time preparing and cooking a meal. You just want something tasty and quick. This is where “5 minute recipes” comes in. They’ll be quick, easy to prepare and tasty.
1. Eggy Noodles
A quick noodle dish that’s tasty and filling, perfect for a quick snack before going out.
Ingredients
1 * 150g pack of Amoy”Straight to wok” medium noodles.
1 * handful of frozen peas (I like Birds Eye as I used to do some GIS work with these guys)
2 * eggs, fresh/organic/free range if you can, we’re lucky!
Soy Sauce, decent brand, dark not light.
Put a little oil in a small pan and heat. Drop the handful of frozen peas into a bowl (I use the bowl I’m going to serve the food in to save washing up) and fill with hot water (not boiling). Stir the peas with your hand until the water goes cold. Once cold (takes a few seconds) empty, then refill the bowl with hot water. You may have to repeat this a couple of times until the peas are sat in warm water (takes less than 1 minute). Leave the peas sat in warm water.
The oil in the pan will now be hot, open the pack of noodles and drop into the pan (it sometimes helps to break the noodles apart a bit in the pack before opening otherwise they drop into the pan in one big lump). Stir-fry these for about 3 minutes. Next, with the noodles still cooking, drain the peas and add them to the noodles (give the bowl a quick dry). After a quick 1 minute stir frying, crack the 2 eggs into the pan and give it a good stir (~30 seconds) so the egg cooks. Now add soy to taste, I like to add quite a lot! One more quick stir then serve in the bowl.
Eggs Noodles, tasty, filling and quick. I may not be the next noodle king
but I reckon this recipe takes some beating!

Yes, the Thresher 40% Off voucher is back! The offer is on wine only (no Champagne, sparkling or fortified) and runs between 22/03/07 and 01/04/07. Now, I have to put in a “Buyer Beware” here, have a read of my reasons why I think this is not as good a deal as you first may think. It’s still a decent deal though, just not a mind-blowing as “40% off!!!111″ sounds.
If you still want to go ahead then the direct link to the voucher on the Thresher website is here with the holding page for the offer here. The T&C’s are actually on the voucher itself and you should always read before using any voucher you’ve found on the Internet.
In case the voucher goes missing or the website goes down
here it is as a PDF: Thresher 40 % Off Voucher
Post a comment if you bag any real bargains!

Quickly following on from my latest wine review is the news that I’ve started the revamp of my reviews. All the wines I review will all be rated on a colour coded (red/white) 5 star scale where 1 star is very bad and 5 stars is great.
So far the revamped scores look like this…

There will be more reviews to come very soon (even though I’m off the booze for a month)!
